August seems to be the month of baby showers! I recently attended a friend's baby shower and catered for two other showers that same weekend so it was a lot of fun. The first cake was baby boy themed chocolate cake with blocks spelling out 'It's A Boy' and whimsical blue butterflies up the side.
Next was a pastel blue and green themed shower, for which I made a two tiered vanilla bean cake with baby blocks, polka dots and a fondant bow tied around the base.
To go with the cake, I also made some vanilla bean cupcakes with pale green icing, a scattering of white sprinkles and matching blue fondant bows.
Lastly were the individually wrapped cake pop favours ($1.65 each) with blue polka dots and tied with a pale green ribbon!
